‘Britain’s vainest man’ caught drink-driving in Tamworth
‘BRITAIN’S VAINEST MAN’ spent the night in the cells after being arrested for drink-driving in Tamworth after a night out.
23-year-old Sam Barton from Sutton Coldfield, gained a reputation for his vanity after getting a £5,000 nose job on the NHS in a bid to make himself look like former TOWIE star Joey Essex.
MailOnline state that the self-styled ‘king of the talentless’, was pulled over in the early hours of this morning after he allegedly drove his Toyota Yaris the wrong way around a roundabout in Tamworth.
This morning, he took to Twitter to tell his 21,000 followers: ‘Not the night I had planned…. I suppose I didn’t have to pay for a hotel.’

A source told MailOnline that Barton’s night in police custody was ‘awful’ and ‘was like being in a Third World country’: “Honestly, they wouldn’t give him a make-up wipe,’ the source said. ‘He had to try and ungrip his hair extensions himself.
“It wasn’t exactly luxury. Let’s just say, it’s not what he is used to.
“His whole routine of going to bed went out through the window. It was awful. It was like a Third World country.”
A friend of Sam’s, 28-year-old Josie May who was allegedly with Barton at the time, spoke to MailOnline saying: “We were going towards Lichfield in his Toyota Yaris and he got pulled over by the Tamworth Wetherspoon’s, he didn’t say anything, he just got out the car and they breathalysed him. He said he was sober, but he was suspected of being twice the legal limit.
“They got him to walk in a straight line and he couldn’t. They arrested him and took him to Tamworth police station.”
“We went out in Tamworth,’ she said. First we went out in Penny Black’s then we moved on to a nightclub called Kudos.”
The account of Josie May does however appear a little inaccurate and so it is not clear how reliable her account is, from local knowledge, there is not a night club in Tamworth called Kudos, this is an Indian Restaurant in Fazeley so I presume she means Kuda - although with Barton, perhaps ‘Vanity’ would have been a more appropriate venue!
Other inaccuracies include the fact that UK police tend not ask people to ‘walk in a straight line’ as a test of sobriety, the breathalyser is a simple test for them. Finally, Tamworth Police Station is very rarely used for prisoners.
Boasting
Earlier this week, Barton took to Twitter to reveal he had gotten away with driving while drunk. He said: ‘So last night I got pulled and I was steaming drunk. I showed the officer a card trick and the prat didn’t even breathalyse me.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police confirmed to MailOnline that Barton spent the night in custody at Burton Police Station.
He is due to appear before magistrates on suspicion of drink-driving on July 31.
