Woman found seriously injuries near Stafford dies

A WOMAN who suffered serious injuries in Stafford at the weekend has sadly died in hospital.

The 44-year-old woman was found with serious head injuries at around 8pm on Saturday (13 July) on the Isabel Trail, off Station Road in Haughton, and was taken to hospital where she died last night (15 July).

The woman is believed to have left The Bell Inn pub in Haughton and was riding an electric bike, before she was found injured a short time later.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of what happened and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information that may assist with the investigation.

A post mortem is due to take place.

A 50-year-old man from Stafford has been arrested in connection with the incident.
