Children can get in the zone at this year’s We Love Tamworth
THERE will be plenty to keep the children entertained at this year’s We Love Tamworth extravaganza, which takes over the Castle Grounds on Saturday, August 22.
The successful day-long event is returning for a third year with wall-to-wall fun for the whole family. At the centre of the festivities there will again be a special action-packed area to keep youngsters busy all day.
Situated on the Lower Lawn, the dedicated Children’s Zone will feature a range of activities including craft workshops, face painting, balloon modelling, walk about characters and a mini zoo. It will also have a games arena complete with ball pond, bouncy castle, junior Gladiators, obstacle course, inflatable slide, basketball shootout, penalty shootout, wacky racers, sports toys and equipment.
Entrance to the Children’s Zone costs £3 per child for the whole day, while accompanying adults get in free of charge.
Outside the Children’s Zone, families will be able to enjoy even more activities in the form of fairground rides, a dog show, Tamworth’s strongest man competition, a police and fire service assault course and a variety of stalls.
Musical accompaniment will again be provided by Amington Band, which will be filling the park with some favourite big band tunes throughout the afternoon, alongside live broadcasts from TCR FM.
Presented by Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts & Events team, the extravaganza attracted almost 10,000 visitors last year and has already become one of the main highlights of the town’s events calendar.
The We Love Tamworth fun kicks off at 11am and will carry on throughout the afternoon until around 4pm.
This year the stalls arena is again being run by Tamworth Lions club, which has been supporting local charities and causes for almost 40 years. Any charities, organisations or businesses interested in joining the 40-plus stalls already taking part in We Love Tamworth this year can email Geoff Trevena at [email protected].
We Love Tamworth is sponsored by Ankerside Shopping Centre. More information about this, and all other outdoor events organised by Tamworth Borough Council, is available at www.tamworthassemblyrooms.co.uk/outdoor-events.
