WATLING Street is currently closed to all traffic, in both directions between the A51 and the A4091.
Readers have reported a large amount of Police activity close to Two Gates traffic lights but have stated that there was no obvious signs as to what had occurred.
The incident was first noticed by readers at around 11.30pm on Friday 21 December and Staffordshire Police notified it’s Twitter followers about the closure at 11.51pm.
The road is closed between Two Gates traffic lights, close to the Bulls Head public House and Bletchley Drive, which is the old Reliant site.
Staffordshire Police have remained tight-lipped as to the incident, but have asked motorists to find an alternative route.

There has now however been unconfirmed reports from local residents that there has been a collision involving a pedestrian.
Local residents have stated that sadly, a man has died at the scene and that the vehicle involved has not stopped.
We stress that at this time this is unconfirmed.
