‘Vote leave’ busy in the borough!

THE ‘Vote Leave’ campaign volunteers have been busy in recent weeks around the Borough, delivering leaflets and canvassing.

Formed back in February this year, the cross party Tamworth branch of Vote Leave has been incredibly busy getting factual messages out to people in Tamworth and the surrounding areas.

They have also been holding regular events in the town centre with their dedicated team of volunteers delivering leaflets, canvassing and helping residents make their choice on 23 June.

The group is spearheaded by local Tamworth Borough Councillor and school teacher, Richard Kingstone and Paul Biggs from Dosthill. Paul recently stood in the local elections so is well used to campaigning. Paul has even has his classic Jaguar XJS livered up in Vote Leave artwork to promote the ‘leave’ agenda due to his strong beliefs.

Richard told Tamworth Informed: “The only right choice is to vote to leave the EU on June 23^rd. For decades our authority to govern ourselves has been whittled away by faceless, unelected people in Brussels. The ‘In’ campaign has been peddling messages about the damage leaving the EU will have on Britain.

“This really annoys me as I see this as our moment to shine. To show how great out country is and forging ahead to make better deals and better laws in the interests of the British people. For centuries we worked to make the world a better place without the EU whining like a nursemaid in our ears. I want to look forward to putting the Great back into Great Britain.”

The Vote Leave Tamworth campaign is now looking for as many people as possible to display a Vote Leave poster in their windows in the run up to referendum day. Before heading off to deliver more posters and leaflets to supporters Richard said: “I love Europe. The people and the countries are simply brilliant. This campaign isn’t about leaving Europe. It’s about leaving the EU and the stranglehold it has over us.”
