PLANNING permission has been granted to divide two units at Tamworth’s Ventura Retail Park to create four smaller units.
The plans are to divide the former Mothercare and Matalan stores to provide smaller units to appeal to stores wanting less floor space.
The works will involve moving existing stone columns and frameless glazed panels / doors to enable their relocation with the addition of new automatic doors.
This will take the total number of units on this stage of Ventura Park to 10, as opposed to the 7 originally at the location prior to Primark being added.
It is understood from the planning application that one of the units is to be occupied by JD, which will be moving from the other phase of the retail park. It is not known if this is again to incorporate Blacks in to a neighbouring unit.
The news of these alterations comes just weeks after a planning application being submitted in relation to the redevelopment of John Lewis and the addition of a drive-thru Costa.
