Investigation continues in to Hednesford deaths

DETECTIVES from Staffordshire Police are continuing to investigate after the bodies of a man and woman were found at an address in Hednesford, Cannock yesterday (16 May).

Officers were called to a house on Hill Street, Hednesford at 1030 BST Thursday. The bodies of a 27-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were discovered inside.

They are not being named at this stage, their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by our specially trained officers.

Both deaths are being treated as unexplained and post mortems will take place today.

Forensic investigations at the address remain ongoing today and local officers are continuing to patrol the area to provide reassurance.

Detective Inspector Cheryl Hannan, senior investigating officer for Staffordshire Police, said: “We would like to thank the local community for their patience as we work to find out the causes of death. We will do all we can to minimise disruption to those in the area.

“Officers will remain at the house over the weekend as investigations continue and I would ask that if anyone has information that may help us with this enquiry, to call 101 quoting incident number 196 of 16 May.”
