Today you will have your chance to put questions to Staffordshire Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis and tell him what matters to you about.
Mr Ellis, Police and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire is holding two ‘Let’s Talk’ events in the town on Today. This will give you a unique opportunity to put questions to him and tell him what matters to you with regards to policing in Tamworth.
People are invited to come along to discuss any concerns they have about crime, policing and community safety with Mr Ellis – no appointment is needed.
He will be in the Ankerside Shopping Centre in George Street from 12pm to 1.30pm to speak to shoppers before holding a joint public meeting with Tamworth Borough Council Leader Danny Cook at the Landau Forte Academy between 6pm and 7pm.
Mr Ellis said: “This is a great opportunity to find out what people in Tamworth have to say. I want to hear what people’s experiences are of policing and the criminal justice system.
“It’s not NHS, local authority, CPS or police money….it’s all public money. We must scrap silo thinking, work to common goals – spend better, achieve more.
“How could things be done better to make sure the system fits the needs of people rather than people having to fit the system?”
“These events give local people a chance to shape the future of policing and the criminal justice services for us all.”
Mr Ellis will be returning to the town following a similar ‘Let’s Talk’ visit to Tamworth last June.
