Sunday, 29th November 2015

MINDLESS criminals targeted the Sea Cadet Unit at Kettlebrook on Friday night, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage and stealing equipment.

Tamworth Sea Cadet unit at Kettlebrook gives dozens of youngsters from across the area something to do and helps them learn skills.

Unfortunately on Friday night they were the target of criminals who broke in to their unit, stole essential equipment and caused damage.

The thieves gained entry by forcing open a window; once inside the fire alarm system and burglar alarm system were been ripped off the wall leaving wires exposed, offices were ransacked and six laptops, a camera and a small safe were stolen from within.

The damage to the fire alarms means that the unit is no longer safe for training with the cadets and the laptops that were stolen are used for training.

Anyone with information regarding the burglary is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 or contact crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
