TAMWORTH goes under the spotlight next week as all 30 councillors take part in the annual ‘State of Tamworth Debate’.
The annual debate will take place on Monday December 7 in the Council Chamber, Marmion House at 6pm. Members of the public are encouraged to come along and listen to the meeting.
Councillors will hold a lively discussion about Tamworth, taking a look back over the past 12 months, while outlining plans for the future.
The debate will be split into three areas which will be introduced by the Leader of the Council and Cabinet member. The three areas are regeneration, for Tamworth, safer communities in Tamworth and health & wellbeing in Tamworth.
Also under discussion are the borough council’s priorities, along with achievements from the last 12 months and feedback from the recent Tamworth Listens Question Time event and consultations carried out during the year.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Daniel Cook, said: “The State of Tamworth Debate will once again put Tamworth under the microscope, where we will both look back over the past 12 months and I will be outlining plans for the future. It is a good opportunity for councillors of all political persuasions to discuss what is important; the future of our town.”
The meeting is open to members of the public to attend and listen to the debate. Anyone who would like to attend is asked to be in the Chamber by 6pm so that the debate can start promptly.
