Teenager dies after McDonalds incident

POLICE have announced that a teenager has died following an alleged assault at McDonalads in Tamworth last month.

The teenager, named as 18-year-old Liam Roche,  died in hospital following the alleged assault which took place on 22nd January.

Liam was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious head injuries, following an incident outside of McDonalds in Ventura Park, Tamworth on Monday 22 January between 10.30 and 11.30pm.

His family are receiving care and support from specially trained officers and they have asked for their privacy to be respected.

The investigation is on-going and we are working to establish the events leading up to this tragic incident.

This morning a 24-year-old male was arrested in connection with the offence and is currently helping Police with their enquiries.
