Tamworth gym celebrates successful first year with open day and holiday prize draw

Monday, 27th March 2017

AN award-winning gym in Tamworth is celebrating one year of changing lives through its unique approach to health and fitness.

The Fitness Junction in Tolsons Mill, Fazeley, was set up by personal trainers Simon Mcneilly, Andy Dolan and Keith Clarke, who shared a passion for providing an alternative, functional gym which helps people of all abilities achieve real and sustainable results.

It’s been a great first year for the trio who have continuously expanded their offering as more and more people switch on to the benefits of their effective and personal approach.

In the 12 months since opening, The Fitness Junction has created a new members’ lounge, added more cutting edge equipment, developed a full programme of fitness classes for adults, launched kickboxing classes for children, opened a luxury fitness retreat in the Cotswolds and was voted Leisure Business of the Year in the 2016 Tamworth Business and Community Awards.

They have also added another member to the team in the form of one of Tamworth’s most popular personal trainers, Jeff Maye, who will be leading new classes in boxercise, street style self-defence, HIT and Strike (semi contact boxing/sparring).

A special Fitness Junction open day has been planned for Saturday, April 1 (9am-5pm) when the successful first year will be celebrated with exclusive offers for new and existing members.

All new members who sign up between now and April 1 will be entered into a prize draw to win a free weekend break for eight people at the stunning Sunset Lodge fitness retreat in the Cotswolds. The luxury lodge is equipped with full fitness facilities and extra treatments are available at a cost. Other prizes on offer include a family ticket for four people to Drayton Manor Theme Park and a meal for two with a bottle of wine at Ask Italian in Lichfield.

As well as The Fitness Junction’s focus on functional training, much of its success is also down to the person-centred approach to health and fitness provided by personal trainers Simon, Andy and Keith.

Keith, a former Royal Marine Commando, said: “The past year has been a steep learning curve and many lessons have been learned. When we first came together, we anticipated hard work, but not at the level it’s at. However, while it has been challenging at times, we all have a passion to make The Fitness Junction a place where people feel comfortable and happy to train, while delivering exceptional results.

“We feel we are achieving this and will be inviting our existing members and any potential new clients to come and celebrate with us and see what we are all about. We know what separates us from other gyms is that we go that extra mile for every client. We take the time to get to know each member, understand their goals and work closely with them to achieve those goals.

“During the next 12 months, we want to further improve our services and build even stronger relationships with members. If we continue to do this and more, we know that we will be able to change even more lives.”

“We hope lots of people come along on April 1 to join the celebrations and take advantage of the fantastic opportunity to win a free weekend to enjoy with their friends and family in our luxury fitness retreat.”

The Fitness Junction is set on the banks of the Birmingham and Fazeley canal. The once empty and unloved unit has been turned into a sleek and stylish gym, thanks to more than £100,000 of investment and months of hard work.
