Stinson Hunter has come clean about his criminal past by admitting he was jailed for 10 years following an arson attack at an empty school.

Keiren Parsons, the 32 year old, known as Stinson Hunter has come under fire in the last week after a family member revealed the details of his criminal past to a National newspaper.

He has stated that he never intended to mislead anyone and that he was intending to come clean in the documentary about him which is aired later this year.

Since his release from prison, Hunter has not managed to keep himself out of trouble. He served a short prison sentence for common assault six years ago. Recently he was also recently arrested, and released without charge, after being accused of harassment by one of his online targets.

Michael Parkes killed himself days after he was confronted by Hunter and accused of grooming a 14-year-old girl over the internet.

Parkes, from Daventry, Northamptonshire, was found hanged three days after being exposed by Hunter, and his group.

The warehouse manager, 46 year old fatehr of one, had been arrested on suspicion of attempted grooming and released on bail after a video of the confrontation was posted on Facebook.

Hunter has admitted he was ‘gutted’ for the man’s young child, and said he immediately pulled the video of their confrontation when he heard about what happened.

Since details of the man’s death have now been published the video has been re-posted, but with the man’s face blurred and key facts removed.

Speaking on his website Hunter has said:
“Shortly after this incident [the filmed confrontation] he was arrested and bailed by the police and I was asked to remove the video which I did.

“I later found out that whilst on bail Michael took his own life, I feel for his family but non of this is my fault, he made the choice to talk to what he believed to be a 12 year old girl, turn up to meet her with cigarettes and wine, then subsequently taking his own life. All his choices, at no point was he talked into this, he did this by his own volition. I accept no responsibility for his ages and neither do any of the lads working with me.

“I want to pass on my condolences to his family and child, I am sorry you have had to go through this heartache.”

Police Encoragement

Police insist Hunter has been repeatedly asked to stop his undercover activity but Hunter himself claims, in one of his online videos that he has been ‘encouraged and coached’ by officers from Warwickshire Police.

Keith Vaz, chairman of the influential Home Affairs Select Committee has now called for an inquiry in to the accusations by Hunter.

Keith Vaz has said:
“This is a most disturbing case which raises serious questions,

“There should be a full inquiry into the claims that Mr Parsons has acted with the encouragement of some police officers.

“Individuals should never take the law into their own hands.”

Police Condemnation

After news that Police were under fire for their links with Stinson Hunter following the suicide of one of his stings, Warwickshire and west Mercia Police have again issued a statement to clarify their position.

They have said on their website;

Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police do not condone the actions of Stinson Hunter. Whilst we understand the motivation of members of the public who want to do as much as possible to protect children, this is a complex issue and should be left to the Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies to deal with. The actions of Stinson Hunter could have several serious consequences:

  • He could be compromising police investigations without knowing that he is doing so. The individuals he is targeting may already be under investigation, and his activities could negate the ongoing enquiries into them. He could further compromise ongoing investigations into paedophile networks where law enforcement agencies are operating online. Stinson’s activities in this way would actually damage criminal investigations rather than assist them.
  • He risks the loss of any evidence being available to achieve a successful prosecution. His actions in “trapping” individuals, videoing them and posting those videos on the internet could result in those people being “tipped off” and destroying any evidence which may otherwise have been available for a successful prosecution by the police.
  • He could in fact cause vulnerable young people to be harmed. In tipping off suspects, he could spark an abuser to harm a child if they feel they are being targeted or threatened.
  • He is posing a serious risk to the families, including partners and children, of those he is “stinging” and exposing on the internet. When the police investigate and arrest individuals, they do so as part of a wider operation within which careful consideration is given to any welfare needs of others who could be affected. His activities provide no opportunity for the police to put in place any measures at all to protect others who may be adversely affected.

As an example, Stinson’s method of videoing individuals and posting them for all to see on the internet exposes them to a risk of serious physical assault. We have already seen evidence to support this assertion, through comments posted online from people who have viewed the “stings”.

If the individual has children, they could be bullied or attacked by “vigilantes” or the family home could be subject to attack, which would place the individual’s family and children at risk of serious physical harm.

If Stinson has given any thought at all to the consequences of his actions on those innocent associates of the people he targets, his behaviour would suggest he is reckless as to whether or not this occurs.

Concern about the type of activity being undertaken by Stinson Hunter has been echoed recently in statements issued by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).

Both of these organisations have confirmed that such activity is a risk to ongoing investigations, could cause an abuser to harm a child, does not protecting vulnerable victims and could cause potential evidence to be destroyed.

Both ACPO and CEOP have also been clear that the Police are best placed to undertake investigation and prosecution of the type of individuals he purports to target.

“We understand the desire to protect children but any member of the public who has information about child sexual abuse, online or otherwise, should get in contact with the police so we can investigate and bring people to justice.”

Child Exploitation and Online Protection - CEOPCEOP have said:
“Identifying alleged paedophiles is best left to the police and suspected incidences of online grooming can be reported to CEOP.”

 

These messages are clear and if Stinson Hunter is truly committed to securing the apprehension and successful prosecution of such individuals, he should cease his activities immediately and leave such matters to law enforcement agencies whose activities are properly authorised, governed and scrutinised.

The police and other law enforcement agencies work closely together with statutory and third sector partners to protect children from abuse and exploitation, and provide empathetic and professional support. We would encourage anyone who is suffering abuse or who is concerned about someone who may be, to contact their local Police force or their Local Authority Children’s Services Team.

  5. Having never trawled the internet looking for children it’s not a path I know - but people do ! I perceived that he took his life being caught and the shame of the action! I could be wrong but I have heard many times the law is an ass, police’ hands are tied, and here was someone not threatening violence I understand but intervening.

  6. The only thing is with what he does is that we don’t know what’s happening when he turns the camera off and that’s where the crime could be being committed. People take there life’s for all kinds of reasons and it could of been cos he was branded a pedo and didn’t have a good life because of that. I’m not saying what he’s doing is right or wrong but maybe there is a better way of doing it. The police should be able to use entrapment to get pedos but sadly there not and others like Stinson take the law in to there own hands.

  7. I think entrapment always sounds forced into that situation but surely if someone is trawling they are canvassing. I see a solution of working ‘with’ and maybe then it becomes a legal warning, a legal sentence to discourage? We all really just want kids to be safe x

  14. So he wants to come clean about his criminal past? Then he will be happy to let everyone know who the common assault was against. It was an assault of his partner, the mother of his child. He no longer sees his child as he is considered a danger. How ironic that this self claimed protector of children did not and will not protect his own child, or the mother. And he wasn’t a naive teenager when he did this, he was a 27 year old man.

    • Sadie, six years ago, after he had done his long sentence for arson, he assaulted his partner who is the mother of his child so badly that he was given another custodial sentence. He hasnt changed and he isnt doing what he does to help the community, he is doing it for his own entertainment, and for money. He doesnt trap paedophiles, he traps lonely old men looking for affection from 18 year old girls on adult websites.   20. It is a news story that has been viewed by hundreds of people and so it is clear that it is of interest to people. Some people agree with what he does and some disagree (not because they are guilty themselves). The job of the page is to give people news stories they want to read and inform them of what’s happening.

  23. He goes about thins completely the wrong way. I’m sure his heart is in the right place but be needs to stop being so up his own backside and realise he is doing it wrong. He has been told many times and because of the way he deals with things people have got off Scott free. People who could have been under investigation already for all he knows. He could have ruined months of investigation work.

He’s not a murderer.not a rapist either, he made one stupid mistake when younger and he served his time..show me someone in this world whos perfect,we all make mistakes..and he turned his life around one male decided to kill himself, thats not stinsons fault at all..why on earth does everyone have to be so judgemental. .I support stinson 100% and think hr does a great job of protecting our kids…shame on whoever revealed his identify

    • Teresa , you are supporting a man who beat up the mother of his own child just 6 years ago. Do you really support a man who thinks nothing of assaulting a woman so badly that he gets a prison sentence for it?

    • No it couldnt, Parsons talks with men on ADULT websites pretending to be an 18 year old girl. Paedophiles don’t go on adult websites, they are more likely to be found on Club Penguin, Facebook, Habbo, and other places where children go online. Paedophiles don’t look for children to groom on Badoo.com or Plentyoffish.com , there’s no prey for them on there.

The CPS would not have been able to make a case as the video evidence had been published online and the defence would have successfully argued an ‘abuse of court’ He has been warned about this many times but doesnt seem to care. He”s not interested in justice, just making videos (he is now re-editing with better camera angles, for more entertainment, according to his own blog) He edits the screenshots of text conversations to discredit and shame men who have been talking with 18 year old girls, and makes it look like they are younger.   36. Definitely an attempt at damage limitation. Hunter is reckless and so are his supporters who chuck out names left right and centre when a new video appears, FB profiles of whom people think are paedophiles are posted and abuse sent via inboxes. Do we really know if any of Stinsons evidence is what it appears to be? There are concerns about that, what do we have really to go on? Edited video’s, screenshots of conversations not afff lot really is it. None of Stinson’s evidence has been used in court, even though he says he has secured 4 convictions, how? Those men pleaded guilty for whatever reason, did they feel pressured into confessing? Makes one stop and think.

This man is a bully..If you dont agree with what he does you are called a paedophile or paedophile lover.I watched the other day them insult a lady who has worked for years to help children.Stinson dosent do it directly he sends his stupid little trolls.Then they go back to him on twitter and say how funny it was.Well i suppose Stinson will say its nothing to do with him,but i have seen it with my own eyes having a good laugh about it.Its about time people woke up and saw what he is really doing the man is sick and needs mental help,no doubt you wont post this but if you need more info i will gladley give it to you.I am emailing all the newspaper with the proof of what i have seen.

  38. I am the lady Linda Parry refers to. Things got so bad with Stinsons Trolls on Saturday that I have reported it all to police and have shown them it all. They are taking this very seriously and are at the moment investigating and looking into finding the real names and I.P’S of those involved. Stinson then went online on Twitter asking his Trolls did they have fun with us the previous evening, does that sound like a person who has changed at all? Threats have been made to my friend too and her profile pictures stolen for him to further abuse and not to mention making false account pretending they are the Met police. If you want more details please dont hesitate to contact me, can show the proof that I showed the police.

  39. He and his followers act recklessly and illegally, but because the subject area is so taboo, those who stand up against him are simply labelled as defending paedophiles. If these men are suspected paedophiles, then it is Stinson Hunter who is defending them, after all, he has entrapped around 60, and yet only 4 or 5 have ever gone to trial. That is because Stinson Hunter publishes videos and compromises potential evidence to a point that it cannot be used in court, and with no evidence, possible paedophiles will walk free. He has been told this by police, by legal people, and CEOP, yet he still does it. Why? Why is he content in allowing potential paedophiles to walk free?
    Its all down to game playing. He entraps sad men on adult websites looking for secret sex with 18 year old girls. Many are married, and are already embarrassed by being caught. Then a quick edit of the screenshots, and the girl becomes a 14 year old when it gets put on Facebook and his website. The Facebook trolls and sheep who follow him believe his every word, and share videos of what they then believe to be a man going online looking for a 14 year old girl. And what can that man possibly do to defend himself? It then becomes his word against 120,000 blinkered followers, with a video! He is wrongly labelled a paedophile immediately, he is tried online with Stinson Hunter and his followers acting as judge and jury. Without ever having to face ANY charges, the man has a death sentence hanging over him. There are 50+ men in this position now, lives ruined, pilloried by society, shunned by friends, and lost families, not because they are paedophiles, but because they chatted to, or arranged to meet a 18 year old girl for sex on websites like Badoo or Plentyoffish. Silly, but certainly not illegal. This man is having fun ruining innocent lives. Remember 50+ men with no charges brought against them, in a hot crime topic like child abuse and paedophilia? Doesnt that strike you as odd?
