New Tamworth-based drama group starting this month
STAGE IT! Players are on the lookout for anyone aged 18 or over who has an interest in performing arts, acting and the theatre to join their brand new performing arts group.
The team setting up Stage It! Players are also teachers at Stage It! Academy, a local performing arts group for children aged 4-18.
Stage It! teacher Tash Short said: “We’ve seen how much enjoyment and fun the students get out of performing arts – both in the sessions and during performances, and we thought it would be great to set up an adult group with a similar focus on fun and friendship.”
The group are looking for anyone interested in taking part in whatever capacity. Co-founder and Stage It!
Principal Chris Pitts said: “It doesn’t matter if you’ve never set foot onstage or if you used to be in the Royal Shakespeare Company. You might have done some drama at school, or you might be an experienced performer. We just want people with energy and enthusiasm. As well as performers, we would love to hear from people with other skills – for example, script-writing, stage management, technical skills – everyone is welcome.”
The group will be meeting every Thursday evening from 8pm-10pm at Wilnecote High School, starting on 17th September. Anyone interested in attending is asked to email [email protected] or phone Tammy on (07928) 887765.
