Staffordshire man wanted in connection with Murder

Detectives in Staffordshire are appealing for help in tracing a man wanted for questioning in connection with the death of a man in Stone in the early hours of Saturday morning (12 April 2014).

Detectives launched the murder investigation after emergency services were called to Whitemill Lane, Stone at twenty past midnight to respond to reports of a 22-year-old man with a serious stab wound. Sadly, despite the efforts of the paramedics, it was confirmed that the man had died at the scene. The man who died was Connan McLeod, from Stone, a post-mortem has since confirmed that the cause of death was a stab wound.

Two men aged 20 and 29-years-old has now been arrested in connection with this investigation and police are keen to speak third man in connection with the death of the Mr McLeod.Detective Inspector Steve Smith from Staffordshire Police CID said: “We are keen to speak to 26-year-old Daniel Allott, formally of Stafford but current of no fixed address, as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of Connan in Whitemill Lane, Stone early this morning.

“I want to appeal directly to Daniel to call the police immediately so we can arrange to speak to him about this incident. We are doing a great deal of work to trace him and we will continue to visit locations and people connected to him.”

“I would urge anyone who knows Daniel’s location to call Staffordshire Police, and not to approach him directly. We have specially trained family liaison officers working to support the family of the man who died and they are aware of the progress of the investigation.”

A detailed forensic investigation of the scene has now been completed and officers from the local policing team continue to patrol the area to speak to local residents about any concerns.
