Man charged following reported stabbing in Lichfield

The three people that were originally arrested for attempted murder in relation to the incident have all been released without charge.

POLICE have charged a 19-year-old man in connection with a reported stabbing in Lichfield over the weekend.

Nathan Michaels from Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands – is due in court charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.

We reported yesterday that officers attended a property in Reynolds Close shortly before 2330 BST on Saturday 2 May after receiving a call from colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service reporting a man had been stabbed.

Michaels was the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the altercation. Three people – originally arrested on suspicion of attempted murder – have all been released with no further action.

One of those – a 20-year-old man from Lichfield – was also arrested and released under investigation for an unrelated drugs offence.

An investigation into the circumstances around the alleged stabbing are ongoing and the 20-year-old man remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene remained in place at the Reynolds Close address in the Dimbles area of the city for a number of hours on Sunday whilst local enquiries were taking place.


Staffordshire Police say that there will be an increased police presence around the area of Reynolds Close for reassurance purposes following the reported stabbing.
