THERE is just a few days left to get your nominations in for the 2019 Spirit of Tamworth Community Awards. Hurry – get your thinking caps on and your nominations in!
Now in its third year, the Spirit of Tamworth Awards, which is presented by Tamworth Round Table, recognises unsung heroes in our community and showcases their achievements at a FREE to attend gala evening.
The gala evening takes place at Drayton Manor Park on Friday 1 February 2019 but nominations close in just a few days, at midnight on 31 December 2018.
With the event being free, this means that you can nominate your unsung heroes, free in the knowledge that you will not be burdening them with the cost of paying for a night out.
Categories that particularly need more nominations at this time are Child of The Year and Tamworth Lifetime Achievement Award.
In total, there are thirteen categories that you can nominate people or groups/teams for, these are:
Group or Individual in Tamworth who has given time and effort regardless of the amount raised.
Spirit of Youth
Recognising the inspiration young people of Tamworth.
Child of the Year
Recognising the inspirational children that make our community proud.
Carer of the Year
Showing care and compassion to others in any capacity.
Volunteer of the Year
Individual or Group that have given their time to a better community.
Community Group of the Year
Recognising a group who have made a significant impact on the community.
Sports Team / Person of the Year
Recognising the sporting achievement of a team or individual no matter how big or small.
Dance / Drama Group of the Year
Recognising the dance and drama groups of the Tamworth Community.
Coach / Instructor of the Year
Has your coach inspired you and made a difference.
The 999 Award
Recognising the work of the emergency services that serve our Community.
Tamworth Lifetime Achievement
Recognising those that have served the Tamworth Community.
Teacher of the Year
Recognising the outstanding contribution of the teaching Community.
Business in the Community
Highlighting the efforts of local businesses in supporting our Community.
In addition to the individual categories, there will also be a ‘Shining Star’ award, where a winner will be picked from all the nominations. This award is Sponsored by Tamworth Ladies Circle who is a member of the Round Table family and heavily support the awards.
Nominations close at midnight on 31 December 2018
