Shakesspeare returns to Middleton Hall
SHAKESPEARE’S greatest love story will be performed in the beautiful setting of Middleton Hall this November.
Romeo and Juliet will be staged by Misnomer Theatre, an award-winning local company who are comprised mostly by members of the highly successful Tamworth Pantomime Company.
Alex Farrell is producing and directing the show, assisted by local performer Olivia Shepherd who has helped to adapt the classic tragedy to fit in with the historic and picturesque setting of Middleton Hall.
Alex said: “This has to be one of our most ambitious projects yet, but it’s already shaping up to be a fantastic show.
“Middleton Hall lends itself perfectly to most Shakespeare plays, and a couple of years ago I was lucky enough I put on a production of Much Ado About Nothing in the walled garden.
“I have decided that this November would be the perfect time to put on what is arguably Shakespeare’s finest and most popular plays, and this time we are inside the elegant main hall.
“Our production is put on by local people who have a love for performing, and the show will be suitable for both Shakespeare aficionados and audiences who have never seen a Shakespeare before, and the surroundings of Middleton Hall make it both breathtaking and accessible - you’ll feel like you’re stepping back to the 1600s.”
Romeo and Juliet runs for just four performances at Middleton Hall, from Friday 6 November - Sunday 8 November.
Tickets cost £12 and that includes a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink and free tea and coffee in the interval.
Tickets can be bought from the Tamworth Tourist Information Centre on 01827 709618 or by visiting Middleton Hall directly.
