Man attacked during robbery in Glascote

OFFICERS from Staffordshire Police are today continuing to investigate a robbery that took place in Tamworth yesterday (29 July).

The 34-year-old victim was walking on Silver Link Road, at the junction of Collett, when three men in black hooded tops/coats approached him at around 8.30am.

One of the men sprayed liquid, believed to be bleach, at the victim’s dog and then in his face. The men then stole his watch, worth £50 and ran off towards the grassed area on the same road.

The victim was taken to hospital for immediate treatment, and has since been discharged.

His dog is being cared for at the RSPCA Birmingham Animal Hospital and is recovering well.

A Police Spokesperson has said: “We would like to reassure the local community that this attack is believed to be isolated, and no other incidents of this nature have been reported.”
