Police warning after Bogus Callers

POLICE are warning the public to be on their guard after a report of a bogus caller in Bloomfield Way, Coton Green.

At around 7:00pm on Saturday 22 October, an unknown male, believed to be in his 20’s and wearing a red hooded jacket, has approached an elderly resident at his property asking for some money for cleaning the bin.

The resident went to get some cash for the male who has then seen the resident replace his wallet before locating some change in another room. The next day it is discovered that his wallet and keys are missing.

Please be on your guard and remind vulnerable friends, family and neighbours to never hand over monies to doorstep callers or allow any unsolicited visitors into their home. Any suspicious callers should be reported to the Police immediately on 101.
