Police hunt violent phone thief

Police in Nuneaton have issued a CCTV image of a male they wish to trace in relation to the theft of an HTC mobile phone.

The theft took place at around 11.35pm on Friday 27 september 2013 when a 21year old male was standing outside McDonalds restaurant in Queens Road, Nuneaton.

His mobile phone was snatched from his hand by a male and when he tried to retrieve his phone the thief punched him in the head and knocked him unconscious by the suspect.

Police would like to trace the man pictured in the CCTV who is described as a white male about 5ft 9ins tall of proportionate build with Dark hair. He was wearing a light coloured hooded top, a light coloured round necked shirt and dark jeans or trousers

The person who punched the victim has been arrested and charged but this second male has yet to be identified.

Police staff investigator Steve Edmond of Nuneation CID said ” We are keen to talk to this person in connection with this theft and would like to hear from anyone who knows this man”
