Police hunt car-key burglar responsible for Tamworth crimes

DETECTIVES in Staffordshire are appealing for help in finding a man wanted for questioning about two ‘car key’ burglaries in the Tamworth area last year.

Edwin Gilbert, aged 38, originally from Birmingham is also wanted for a failure to appear before Magistrates.

He is described as a white male, around 5ft 8 tall, medium to slim build with dark greasy hair. Officers from Staffordshire have been conducting visits to numerous addresses of associates of Gilbert including addresses in the Walsall, Erdington, Edgbaston, Northfield and Shard End areas.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “We know that Edwin knows we are looking for him, and we believe people are helping him evade the police. we are warning those people that they are committing criminal offences and are likely to face their very own court appearances when we capture him.

“We are determined to locate and arrest him and we urge the public to help us and reporting any sightings via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. A reward may also be available via Crimestoppers for information which leads to his arrest.”
