POLICE in Tamworth are appealing for information following an incident on Wednesday evening which resulted in two people receiving ‘significant injuries‘.
The incident occurred at around 2200 BST on Wednesday 24 June at the junction of Fazeley Road and County Drive.
it is believed that from around 2000 BST the same evening, there were a large number of teenagers in the area, congregating on foot and on bikes.
The exact details of the incident have not been released at this time but it is understood that two persons sustained that police have described as ‘significant injuries’ and that a knife has been recovered.
PCSO Gareth Butler from the Tamworth Neighbourhood Policing Team said via SmartAlert: “On 24th June 2020 at roughly around 22:00 there was a incident reported on the junction of County drive , Tamworth whereby 2 young males were injured and a knife was found at the location.
“Enquires have been made in and around the location of the incident and are ongoing. Both males involved had significant injuries and it has been suggested that from 20:00 onwards there seemed to be a lot of young people in the area on foot and on bicycles who may or may not have been involved in the matter.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or can offer any further information to make contact with Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting Incident 790 24/06/20.”
