Thursday, 17th December 2015

WARWICKSHIRE Police are appealing for information after a fatal collision on the M6 southbound, between junction two and junction one.

Two people died in the collision which occurred at around 5.30am this morning (Thursday 17 December) between a van and an HGV.

Warwickshire Police and an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a paramedic area support officer were sent to the scene from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crews arrived they found a van and a lorry that had been in a significant collision.

“Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save either man in the van and they were confirmed deceased on scene.

“The lorry driver was checked over by ambulance staff; he was uninjured, but understandably shaken by what had happened.”

Anyone with information about the collision is urged to contact Warwickshire Police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 30 of 17th December.
