Plans for Gym and Nail Bar within Sainsburys
PLANS have been submitted for a new Gym and Nail Bar within the Sainsburys Store at Jolly Sailor Retail Park.
The plans will see just over 400 sq m of the supermarket shopping area being taken away to create a 381 sq m Gym and a 28 sq m Nail Bar.
At this point in time, there is no identified operator for the gym, but is targeted towards providing a large open plan and flexible space aimed at the budget end of the gym market, similar to other retail park gyms, think easygym or puregym.
Budget gyms mentioned are generally accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week which is why sharing locations with retail units is a good business model. Budget gyms rely on large simple floor plans which offer flexibility and have access free car parking.
If the planning is successful, the nail bar would be operated by a national operator, Regis. The nail bar would provide a wide selection of manicure and pedicure services including, filing and polishing, precision nail shaping, infills and advanced cuticle care. The concession would also offer massage, moisturising and skin rejuvenation treatments for hands and feet.
In August 2014 89 sq m of the retail floorspace in the store to a dental surgery.
