PEOPLE in Tamworth are being invited to join the thousands who get the latest news from Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis straight to their email inbox.

The electronic newsletter was launched in 2013 so that residents across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent can get up-to-date information on PCC initiatives, local ‘Let’s Talk’ events and ways to get involved.

To date, 5,114 individuals have subscribed to the regular emails by signing up at www.staffordshire-pcc.gov.uk/email

Recent updates have featured information on volunteering opportunities, supporting domestic abuse victims in the workplace, tackling business crime, funding opportunities for community groups.

Mr Ellis said: “I’ve met thousands of people face to face over the last year at various events across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

“Many of them are interested in getting regular updates about the exciting initiatives we’re involved, such as the popular crackdown on car insurance dodgers.

“This newsletter is a great way of finding out what’s going on in policing and criminal justice, getting local news and hearing about ways you can get involved as a volunteer or even play a part in deciding local priorities.”
