Prepare to get ‘all crazee now’ at glittering glam rock revival
REMEMBER the glitzy, heady days of flamboyant costumes, platform shoes, glitter - and above all foot-stomping rock songs?
Everything that was great about glam rock will be celebrated in a high-octane show coming to Tamworth Assembly Rooms this month.
And as the title suggests, the Original Jukebox Heroes is not a tribute show; its members were part of the glam rock era the first time around and are bringing that experience and enthusiasm back for a night of no-holds barred singing and dancing.
So whether you are a child of the ‘70s, or you love the top timeless hits of the decade, get down to the Corporation Street venue on Saturday, September 19, for a glittering glam rock revival.
The set list boasts popular tracks including Fox on the Run, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Love is Like Oxygen, Ballroom Blitz and many more, all performed by a super group made up of six members who have each have an impressive 40 years of live music experience, gained from performing in some of the biggest bands of the ‘70s.
Jeff Brown on vocals and bass guitar spent 16 years with Sweet - one of the biggest bands of the glam rock era.
Steve Whalley on guitar fronted Slade for more than 15 years after Noddy Holder, while Pete Phipps on drums is one of the founding members and original drummer with the Glitter Band and co-wrote the top 10 hit Angel Face.
Philip Wright is the original lead singer and drummer with Paper Lace, which had hits with Billy Don’t Be a Hero and Hitchin A Ride and Phil Hendriks had chart success in the ‘80s with pop band The Stiffs. He also tours with original Bay City Roller Les McKeown. They are joined by Dave Major on keyboard.
So get your guitars at the ready and prepare to rock until you drop with this amazing live show.
