June 21, 2015

A SECTION of Offa Street on the Leys remains cordoned off by Police this morning following a fire last night.

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were sent to a report of a flat fire just before 8pm yesterday evening (Saturday).

At its peak, five crews from across the county as well as an aerial platform were in attendance. Fire fighters were sent in to the building wearing breathing apparatus.

Fire crews left the location at around 130am this morning.

Staffordshire Police were also in attendance in Offa Street and remain at the location this morning.

An area below the building appears to be littered with roofing tiles and debris at this time.

It is believed that no persons were hurt in the fire.

At this time the cause of the fire is unknown.
