A brand new company for Tamworth, Glascote & District Funeral Service proudly opens it’s doors this week to serve the local community.
Under the personal guidance of Roy Henfrey and Nikki Eve Taylor. They will ensure to provide a truly personal service in your time of need.
Roy and Nikki have been taking care of families in the Tamworth area for almost ten years having both worked for a funeral home based in Tamworth, so their faces maybe very familiar to you.
They have decided to open the Glascote & District Funeral Home with the aim of providing a much more personal and flexible service to local families.
They have told Tamworth Informed how continuity is extremely important to them and this is why, wherever possible, Roy or Nikki will be there to initially take your call day or night, every day of the year.
It is clear to see that Glascote & District Funeral Service take pride in being able to provide a service to our community with sensible prices. Their new funeral home has a private arranging room and remembrance room to ensure families have the privacy they deserve.
They are also able to offer anything from a motorcycle hearse to a horse drawn hearse and can provide floral tributes, funeral stationary, masonry and a selection of ash caskets and jewellery. They can also arrange Pre-paid funerals.
Before coming into the funeral profession, Roy was a firefighter for 13 years, a job he thoroughly enjoyed as it involved helping out in the local community and being there when needed. One of his proudest moments, was to receive a commendation for the part he played in rescuing a young family from a ferocious house fire in the early hours of the morning.
Roy had always been interested in the funeral service, so when he was kindly given the chance to work a few hours in Tamworth he took it and never really looked back, eventually making it his full time career. He quickly wanted to learn new skills and was given to chance to learn these, eventually being given the opportunity to arrange funerals and also to conduct them, a role he was very proud of and felt privileged to do. In his spare time Roy enjoys watching football, sometimes making it down to the Lamb to cheer them on. He is also a keen bowls player both indoor and outdoor.
Nikki had her first involvement of the funeral industry during her work experience week in secondary school and during this time Nikki realised this was going to be her chosen career path. After enrolling in the Derbyshire School of Embalming, Nikki managed to fulfil her dream working in a local funeral home.
During this time she gained full experience and competency in all areas of the funeral profession including the personal accomplishment of a degree in funeral services from The University of Bath. Nikki enjoys spending time with her beloved family and friends especially her daughter Erin.
Their doors officially opened to serve the community today (Thursday 7 May) and they would like to invite you to join them for their open day which will be held on Saturday 30th May from 9:30am.
This will give you the opportunity to meet Roy and Nikki, have a look at their new funeral home, ask any questions and to enjoy complementary refreshments.
