Do you or your family have some old football boots that still have plenty of life to give? A new scheme in Tamworth has opened up to help football families keep up with the demands of growing feet!
The Boot Buddies Swap Shop is a non-profitable service for families across Tamworth to help them save on the costs of replacing Football Boots. If you have old boots that are still in a good, clean and useable condition, don’t throw them out! Bring them down to a Boot Buddies Swap Event, where you can either donate your old boots for fellow footballers or swap them for another pair in the size you need. The scheme is open to all, whether your boots are for children, young adults or adults.
Local Mum Emily Cole, the creator of the Boot Buddies Swap Shop, says:
“I created Boot Buddies Swap Shop, for two main reasons:
1 being, I hate waste!! I have 4 kids, 3 boys and 1 girl, all the boys have had football boots at some point and still do need them and they are not cheap nowadays, yet they grow out of them so quickly. I’m fortunate to be able to pass the boys boots down from the eldest to the youngest, but some families are not in this position and have to pay sometimes costly prices for more! This can get expensive right?
So 2, I want to help families, like myself and many others eliminate the ever growing costs of new boots, because your child or yourselves have outgrown theirs and try to work together as one big football family, helping each other out. One good turn, deserves another as they say! So basically the idea is simple really, you donate a pair of unwanted/outgrown boots (good, clean, useable condition) and you get a voucher to redeem another pair absolutely free should you wish to have one. Eliminate waste! Eliminate cost! That really is it!”
