New council app downloaded by more than 1,300 people

A NEW app which allows people to access council services while on the move has been downloaded by 1,343 people.

The MyStaffs app was launched by Staffordshire County Council, in partnership with Tamworth Borough, Lichfield District and South Staffordshire Councils, in May.

The app allows users to access a wide range of council services from their laptops or smartphones, including finding out about school closures, reporting highway issues, ordering an extra bin and managing council tax payments.

The top five services being accessed on the MyStaffs app are:

  • Term dates & school holidays – 13.1%
  • Find my nearest… – 11.4%
  • Report it – 10.9%
  • Births, deaths & marriages – 10.8%
  • School menu options – 9.4%

Cllr Rob Pritchard, Tamworth Borough Council Deputy Leader, said: “The MyStaffs app is a big success story and is making it easy for people to do a large number of things, including reporting potholes, finding out about school holidays, school meals and getting reminders to put bins out.

“If you haven’t downloaded it from the app store yet, I would encourage you to do so. It’s a great little tool.”
