Murder investigation launched after 26-year-old dies

WARWICKSHIRE police have launched a murder investigation after a man sadly died in hospital following an incident in Atherstone.

The 26-year-old man from New Arley was critically injured in an incident on Manor Road, Atherstone, at 9.25pm on Saturday 25 March has sadly died in hospital.

It is reported that a black Audi was in a collision with the victim before he was assaulted by a man. The victim was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

Following the incident a 38-year-old man, 33-year-old man and a 55-year-old man, all from Atherstone, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain on police bail while investigations continue.

Detective Teresa McKenna said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the victim at this time. I can confirm that this is now a murder investigation and we are continuing to appeal for anyone with information that could help with our enquiries to come forward.”
