STAFFORDSHIRE Police are this evening continuing their murder investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in Tamworth yesterday (9 Jan).
Earlier today a Home Office post-mortem examination has taken place on the female victim, where it has been established that the cause of death was multiple head injuries.
Emergency services were called to the address in Cross Street, Kettlebrook at around 4.20am yesterdauy, Friday 9 January, after the woman was found collapsed.
Police have now named the 50-year-old victim as Tina Montgomery of Cross Street, Tamworth and state that her immediate family are being offered support by specially trained officers.
Staffordshire Police’s Major Investigation Department continues to investigate the murder.
The 38-year-old man, from Tamworth, arrested in connection with the death remains in police custody for questioning following authorisation by a magistrate for continued detention.
