MP hands over £10,000 cheque to on behalf of Friends of Tamworth Castle

Monday, 21st May 2018

AT the recent AGM of the Friends of Tamworth Castle, MP and Patron, Christopher Pincher, presented a cheque for £10,000 to Louise Tromans, which she accepted on behalf of the Castle, being match funding to support new projects planned for the Castle’s future.

This is what the Friends of the Castle is all about.  They have over the years raised funds and held events, trips and talks, all solely for the purpose of helping towards the support of our Castle.

Prior to this, the 50th AGM of the ‘Friends’, an appeal was put out for not only new members but, more urgently, for new committee members. Emails were also sent to all of Tamworth Borough Council’s elected councillors, hoping to enlist new members and/or committee members.

Councillor Simon Peaple responded and is now a valuable member of our committee.  Councillor Steve Claymore, the portfolio holder for Regeneration, has also offered assistance in directing us towards any funding available.

And so, for Tamworth Castle, The Future’s Looking Brighter.  Check out the events planned throughout the summer – maybe even become a member and help us out!  More information can be found on their website here.
