Man taken to hospital following incident in Alvecote

A man has been taken to hospital with a stab wound to his head following an incident on Alvecote Lane, Alvecote.

Warwickshire Police received a call at 1.43pm today (Monday 3 April) regarding a disturbance at the caravan site on Alvecote Lane involving a number of people.

The man, thought to be in his 50s, is currently in a serious condition.

Another man is receiving hospital treatment for lacerations to his arm.

Detective Inspector Neil Reader said: “Local people will see an increased policing presence in the area while we continue to investigate this incident and identity those responsible.

“I would like to reassure people that we believe that all those involved were known to each other and there is no wider threat to the community.

“If anyone has any information that could help us with our investigation or help us identify those involved I would urge them to contact us.”

Robey’s Lane and Alvecote Lane will remain closed while investigations are ongoing.

The National Police Air Service is being used as part of the investigation and the air ambulance has attended the scene.
