Detective Inspector Neil Reader said: “This is an appalling act of violence towards well respected members of the business community in North Warwickshire. The use of a firearm in any crime raises fears and clearly presents a very real perception of violence. I seek to reassure all communities that crimes involving firearms within Warwickshire are extremely rare.

“My team have worked tirelessly to investigate this offence and the apprehension of two offenders and charges that followed is a credit to them and the involvement of the community. I am seeking further information from anyone that has any information regarding the third person, as identified in the still image, with the ‘Henleys’ top on. I am also appealing for further information relating to any sightings of the Seat Ibiza, and a white Audi Q7 within the Atherstone area near to the time of the incident”
