Lucky escape after Trinity Road smash

A COLLISION this afternoon on Trinity Road at the junction with Overwoods Road at Freasley left the occupants of the vehicle with only minor injuries.

The collision, late this afternoon (Tuesday 15 September) involved a Eddie Stobart HGV and a grey estate vehicle. The road was blocked for some time following the collision.

Warwickshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene.

  16. It needs speed cameras up here at a speed of 30, plus more lighting for night driving. A lot do speed and over take, it’s partly lack of speed restrictions etc and partly careless driving. So many pull out from the junctions when cars are fast approaching, it’s crazy how people risk this on that road.

The amount of accidents here warrants lights , speed cameras , any speed calming measures that can save lives , can’t believe people say it’s down to the drivers , how about the second car with kids in for eg ? Do it for those , the innocent ones that end up statistics in these accidents that maybe as a result of the other speeding driver

Unfortunately speed is always a factor to persons killed or seriously injured in road traffic collisions but there is a person behind the wheel who is responsible for the speed that the vehicle is travelling at. Too many people are in a rush to get to where they are going to/coming from, too many people using mobile phones whilst driving. If everyone left their house just a few minutes earlier then they would be able to take their time and experience a less stressful time behind the wheel

  21. I use this road all the time & have seen too many near misses. The road is dangerous as it is too fast, I know on many occasions for drivers to speed up when u are turning into overwoods road when u were not anywhere near that driver….what are they hoping to achieve??! Lorries go way too quick down there too & like to be bullies on road. The speed limit definitely needs to be changed.

The road is dangerous as it is too fast, I know on many occasions for drivers to speed up when u are turning into overwoods road when u were not anywhere near that driver….what are they hoping to achieve??!   37. The car could of been overtaking another car turning into over woods road and the truck could of swerved to avoid it,there’s a dozen different scenarios so why not wait until the correct details are published before guessing or assuming anyone was speeding or not paying attention?

I use this road all the time it’s not the road it’s driver error but so many accidents here now it warrants something, put some lights there 👍 they’ll always be people driving dangerously on the road and even the most careful are capable of a poor judgement occasionally. I certainly wouldn’t want my passengers/loved ones paying the ultimate price for my risks/error or someone else’s

They upt the speed limit for Hgv,s upto 50 instead of 40 but drivers still pass you on corners and double white lines to get passed I’ve seen the lot and had more than my share of near misses and lost more than a few friends who have put there wagons in ditches than witness the death of families who don’t no how fast there car can do or stop. You put lights up they go faster putting speed cameras up fuks us all up more traffic police patrols are needed or at least camera at the junction

  76. I read on these forums daily with regards to collisions the words ” its a dangerous road”. Let me make it simple. There is no such thing. The only danger are the numb skulls driving on it. People need to drive to the conditions. And slow down. It’s not rocket science. And stop blaming the road. There are only two things that cause rtc. Human or mechanical error. I know where my money lies.
