CHILDREN of Tamworth are invited to the town’s shopping centre next week for summer-themed fun and games at its monthly playtime event.
Ankerside Shopping Centre’s Stay & Play will return between 9.30am and 11.30am on Thursday 26 April, where local little ones will have the chance to tell everyone their plans for the summer and hear all about May’s Skin Awareness Month.
As well as getting families ready for the summer sunshine, children along with parents, grandparents and childminders will also be able to enjoy inflatables, a bubble machine and a visit from Ankerside’s colourful Stay & Play monster.
Jeff Wigley, Ankerside Shopping Centre manager, said Stay & Play is a great way to get families excited for the summer ahead. “So far this year, we’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter at Stay & Play. As the weather has been less than spring-like we really wanted to get everyone ready for the hot weather that’s hopefully to come.
“Throughout the morning, visitors will be able to listen to what everyone is up to during the summer holidays. Plus, Thursday will also be a chance for children to fill in their learning books that they bring along to each event. This time they will be writing about their summer holiday plans.”
Parents attending Stay & Play will also be informed about skin safety during the summer months. “As Skin Awareness Month launches on Tuesday 1 May, we have also invited staff from our Holland & Barrett and Boots stores to discuss the importance of keep skin safe and tips on skin protection during hot weather.
“Stay & Play is a fantastic way to get spring and summer started here at Ankerside and we look forward to seeing everyone enjoying Thursday morning,” Jeff said.
The Stay & Play fun takes place from 9.30am to 11.30am in Druckers Café on the last Thursday of each month and is free for anyone wishing to attend with their youngsters.
