TWENTY members of the Lichfield District Tourism Association raised a glass at The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum to celebrate the launch of the Lichfield Real Ale Trail.
A free real ale trail, developed by Lichfield District Tourism Association, was unveiled in Lichfield on Wednesday 10 February.
Angel Inn on Market Square, which is one of ten public houses on the trail, proudly provided the real ale at the launch event.
Councillor Helen Fisher, Cabinet Member for Tourism & Communications for Lichfield District Council, said:
“We’re so lucky in Lichfield to have such a brilliant selection of pubs which serve quality real ales. The trail features ten excellent examples of them, but this is by no means a complete list. Following the trail is a great way to experience some of our historic local pubs and fine real ales.”
The trail goes throughout Lichfield City centre, starting at the Bowling Green, followed by the Queen’s Head, The Horse & Jockey, The George Hotel, The King’s Head, Angel Inn, The Scales, George VI, Malt Bar and finishing at Whippet Inn.
The Real Ale Trail is free and available and from all the pubs on the trail and at Tourist Information at St Mary’s in the Market Square. You can also download it from www.visitlichfield.co.uk/aletrail.
