The Kumon Tamworth Study Centre will hold an open event at the SnowDome on 27th September.
The idea of the event is to provide local families with a chance to learn more about Kumon’s individualised maths and English programmes and how they could benefit their children.
Parents with children of all ages are encouraged to pop in from 12pm to 3pm.
Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to take part in a series of activities, including, story telling, a number board challenge, and competitions, one of which offers the opportunity to win an ereader! Parents will also have the chance to explore study materials and ask any questions they might have about the Kumon programmes.
Instructor at the Tamworth Study Centre, Claire Davison said: “I am very much looking forward to being able to bring Kumon to the SnowDome for the day so we can show local families what our study programmes are all about. Families can drop in through out the day to meet my team, and ask Kumon how we could help their child.”
Established for over 50 years, the Kumon programmes enable children of all ages and abilities to develop their independent study skills and confidently tackle advanced work. Kumon’s approach to learning is quite different to traditional methods of supplementary education. Kumon develop children through the acquisition of independent learning skills, rather than teaching in the conventional sense, so they do not become dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon Educational is the UK’s largest supplementary education provider, with over 68,000 students studying at more than 640 study centres.
