Man charged with Tamworth murder remanded in custody

THE man who has been charged with the murder of 25-year-old Lauren Mae Bloomer in Tamworth has been remanded in custody.

Jake Notman, aged 27, from Bingley Avenue, Dunstall Park, was charged on Saturday with murder and appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today, Monday 23 November.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday, 25 November where it is likely he will be further remanded.

Police were called to reports that a woman had been seriously injured on Bingley Avenue in Tamworth in the early hours of Friday morning (20 November). Sadly, Lauren died at the scene.

Police say that Lauren’s family are being supported by specially-trained officers and they ask for their privacy to be respected at this tragic time.
