Investigation launched after man stabbed in Wilnecote

STAFFORDSHIRE Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed whilst in his home in Wilnecote.

Police were called to an address on Watling Street, Wilnecote, after a report that a man had been stabbed after two masked men entered the home.

The victim was taken to Coventry hospital and the house was declared a crime scene.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police has said: “We were called to an address in Watling Street, Wilnecote, at around 10.30pm last night (4 June) following reports of a serious assault whereby two masked men entered a property and assaulted the occupant.

“Officers and paramedics attended the scene and a 20-year-old man was taken to Coventry Hospital with stab wounds to his leg and arm. He is currently in a stable condition.

“The scene was secured overnight and an investigation is underway.

“We believe this is an isolated incident but are appealing for anyone with information to call us on 101 quoting incident 890 of 4 June.”
