Investigation launched after aggravated burglaries in nuneaton

DETECTIVES in Warwickshire have launched an investigation after aggravated burglaries at two houses on Oldbury Road, Nuneaton.

Police were called at 5.15pm last night (Tuesday 29 May) to a report that two men had broken into a property near to The Royal Oak pub. The men were disturbed by a neighbour who raised the alarm. A commotion in the street followed before the men fled in a silver Audi TT.

At 00.22am this morning (Wednesday 30 May), police were called to a report of someone trying to gain entry to a different house on the road. The offender or offenders had fled before police arrived.

Detective Sergeant Carl Buckley said: “At this time we are treating these two incidents as linked. One of our main lines of enquiry is that the offenders were potentially targeting someone in particular in the area.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries in the area and we’re appealing to the public for help.”
