Woman sadly loses life after fire at her home

TRAGIC news this afternoon as it has been confirmed by Staffordshire Police that the lady who was hospitalised after a house fire in Two Gates on Sunday, has sadly passed away.

The family of the lady have asked for people to respect their privacy at this time.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police has said: “Sadly, we can confirm that a 55-year-old woman has died in hospital following a house fire on Parkfield Close, Tamworth, on Sunday (6 January). The family have asked for their privacy to be respected during this difficult time and therefore we will not be releasing the woman’s name.”

Speaking yesterday, Detective Constable Jamie Harris from Staffordshire Police, said: “We’d like to thank those members of the public who assisted at the scene last night and for the co-operation of the local residents whilst fire crews tackled the blaze.

“The cause of the fire is currently unknown so we are appealing to anyone with any information to come forward and help with our investigation. If you can help please call 101 quoting incident 469 of 6 January.”
