GHOULS and boys are in for a treat this half-term as Ankerside Shopping Centre prepares for a wicked week of Halloween fun and games.
Little terrors are invited to Ankerside’s ‘Stay & Play’ kids’ club on Thursday 25 October, which this month will have a ‘Weird Science’ theme. The free event will see visitors getting stuck into a gruesome slime-making activity from 9.30am until 11.30am.
Shoppers can really get into the spirit of things on Saturday 27 October at ‘Magic School’ in the unit next to Peacocks from 11am until 4pm.
Children will be taught terrifying tricks, spooky spells and much more by a witch. There will also be story time sessions, games and shows to enjoy, with event-goers to receive a certificate when graduating from their crash course. Attendees are also encouraged to dress up in their most ghastly Halloween costumes.
On the big day itself on Wednesday 31 October, Community Together will be at Ankerside for a day of pumpkin carving. For £2, visitors will be able to put their creative skills to the test by making scary faces out of a squash, as well as taking part in arts and crafts activities which will also be taking place next to Peacocks.
“The most frightening night of the year is creeping up on us and we’ve lots of brilliant, family events lined up for Tamworth,” said Mark Burbridge, Ankerside Shopping Centre’s manager. “There’s lots of fun to be had and I’m sure visitors, young and old, will have an absolute scream as we celebrate all-things Halloween.”
