POLICE in Tamworth have issued a warning to children and their parents after reports of children being approached by males in a van.

Police have had two reports of a dark coloured van, which they say is possibly a black Mercedes, similar in size to a transit van, approaching children.

The first incident occurred close to the shops in Caledonian, Glascote Heath. Two males asked children to “get in” and made hand gestures to come to them.

A similar incident occurred in Bancroft, Glascote Heath, whereby the males within the van are described as dark-skinned.

Fortunately, no harm came to the children involved in the incident.

Unfortunately, no registration numbers for the vehicles involved have been given.

PCSO Phil Trow has said via SmartAlert: “Any further potential sightings. please try and obtain as much information as possible and call the Police.”
