COMUTERS in Tamworth face days of traffic misery after the announcement that a main road is to be closed completely.
Emergency repairs being carried out by South Staffs Water mean that a complete closure of the road will be needed.
The repairs are being carried out to the B5000 Glascote Road, causing the closure between the Sheepcote Lane / Marlborough Way roundabout and the canal bridge by the Co-op.
In an email sent to a local School by South Staffs Water, it says the works could take up to a week.
Workers have been at the location for a number of days but the traffic has been controlled by temporary traffic lights which have caused long delays.
Due to the complete closure however, traffic is being diverted a long surrounding roads, which is also causing delays in the area of Bolehall and Glascote.
