TAMWORTH families are in for a treat, as the town’s shopping centre has opened a free soft play area just in time for half-term.
Ankerside Shopping Centre opened the doors to its Stay & Play soft play area on Thursday 24 May, which will provide children aged up to five and their families with a place to enjoy fun and games after a day of shopping in Tamworth.
The new children’s zone, which will be located in the former Phones4U unit next to Select and opposite Warren James, will be free to attend but parental or guardian supervision will be required at the facility.
Jeff Wigley, Centre Manager at Ankerside, said the free play area is going to be a fantastic addition to the centre. “We’ve been hosting our monthly Stay & Play mornings, which was formerly Mummy morning, for more than two years and it is becoming increasingly popular, so we thought this was the perfect opportunity to expand the monthly sessions and make Stay & Play a more permanent fixture.
“With the May half-term, we thought this was a great time to launch this exciting venture, giving parents a new option of keeping the little ones occupied and having fun with their children in a safe environment.
“We’re sure this is going to be a very popular go-to for the whole family during weekends and school holidays and we hope everyone has lots of fun visiting Ankerside’s Stay & Play soft play area.”
*The Stay & Play soft play area will be open at Ankerside Shopping Centre Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sundays/Bank Holidays 11am to 4pm. To use the facility, children must be accompanied by a supervising parent or guardian.
