June 24, 2015

TAMWORTH is set to be the centre of UK’s urban scene as one of the biggest urban festivals in the country takes place in the town on Saturday 27th June in the Castle Grounds.

New Urban Era, organisers of the Tamworth Urban Arts Festival, have joined forces with Tamworth Round Table, organisers of the RT Jam skate, BMX and scooter competition, to provide an outstanding day of urban arts and sports.

Some of the UK’s finest graffiti artists will be in the town to ‘battle it out’ at the festival which this year has a sci-fi theme.

There’ll be an array of local artists, DJs and dance crews to provide entertainment for all of the family as well as workshops, graffiti doodle walls and other opportunities for adults and children to ‘have a go’ themselves.

Tamworth Round Table’s RT Jam returns for its third year this time as part of the festival. It’s a great opportunity for local skaters, BMXers and those on scooters to show off their skills on the skate park and be in with a chance to win a large array of prizes provided by event supporter Vans.

There are different age categories in this free to enter competition to give people of all ages a chance so if you’re aged 11+, get down to the skate park for 11.30am to register.

Tamworth BMX clubs will be in the grounds doing demonstrations on the day and also offerin the chance for people to have a go.

This is a fantastic family event with something for everyone, lots to see, experience and take part in.
