STAFFORDSHIRE businesses can improve efficiency through full fibre broadband connection using vouchers worth up to £3,000.
The Government operated £67 Million Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme is available to all small and medium-sized businesses and can either be for one company or a group on a shared network build. This is a future-proof connection of up to 1gigabit (1000 megabits per second).
Groups of residents can also apply for vouchers of up to £500 where a business is also included. Businesses or group applicants just need to find a supplier to start the process.
There are over 100 registered suppliers in Staffordshire and the chosen supplier will register for the voucher. The supplier will then make the necessary connection to the premise or premises.

Staffordshire County Council’s economic growth leader Mark Winnington said: “Our Superfast Staffordshire programme has been a resounding success in ensuring the vast majority of properties in the county are connected to fast broadband speeds.
“We are also urging people and businesses to take advantage of initiatives like the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme to improve their connection further. Ultrafast broadband can make a real difference to business efficiency and productivity. This scheme is open to businesses and a fibre to premise connection is not only faster but also more reliable.”
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have less than 250 employees and turnover of less than £45million. The scheme ends in March 2019 or when funding runs out.
